GrandTable POS: An Honest Look for UAE Restaurants

29 October 2026

GrandTable POS will not be the best POS for every restaurant in the UAE, and no honest article could claim that. What it does offer is unusual: a full back office (stock, recipe costing, live profit, KPIs and staff records) inside a low-cost POS that runs on devices you already own.

For a small or mid-sized independent venue, that combination can be worth far more than another till. For an Arabic-first operation, it may not be the right fit yet. This article covers both sides.

What GrandTable POS is

GrandTable POS is a cloud restaurant POS from GrandTable Group, based in Motor City, Dubai. It costs AED 75 per device per month, plus a yearly platform fee of AED 1,000 that is waived in year one for the first 25 venues. Prices exclude VAT.

There is no hardware to buy. It installs on the home screen of the tablets, phones and computers you already have. A 7-day demo gives full access with no card required, and nothing is charged automatically when it ends.

Where it genuinely stands out

GrandTable's real advantage is scope for the price. Many POS products in the market sell kitchen screens, inventory, QR ordering and reporting as separate modules or separate tools. GrandTable includes them all in the one per-device fee.

1. You see real profit, not just sales. Recipes are linked to stock, so every sale deducts ingredients automatically. The live P&L shows net sales, food cost %, and gross and net profit through the day. Salaries flow into that P&L too. Most restaurants only learn their true margin when the accountant closes the month.

2. It handles UAE staff admin. Employee records track visa, Emirates ID, passport, labour card and health card expiry dates, flagged 30 days ahead. Access is limited to owners and HR. For a UAE venue with a largely expatriate team, a missed renewal can mean fines, so this is a practical feature most POS systems leave to separate HR software.

3. Monthly targets with early warnings. Owners set targets for sales, food cost %, labour %, covers and spend per head. The system shows daily progress and alerts when a day comes in under 90% of target.

4. Low entry cost. No proprietary terminals, no card needed to try it, and monthly device licences. A two-device café pays about AED 1,800 in year one if it qualifies for the waiver.

5. Built for daily service. Orders route to separate Kitchen and Bar screens with ticket timers. Guests can order from a table QR code at busy times. On installed devices, orders and cash payments keep working when the WiFi drops, then sync later.

6. Take cards without a card machine. Payments link to the restaurant's own Stripe or PayPal account, which accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay and all major credit cards. A new venue can skip renting a terminal entirely, and an existing card machine still works too.

7. One owner, many venues. Several restaurants can sit under one owner account. From a phone, the owner can open any venue or see one combined table of every restaurant, with live costings and performance for each and in aggregate.

8. Delivery aggregators connected. Orders from delivery aggregator platforms come into the POS, so delivery does not need a separate tablet workflow.

9. Local basics covered. It prints VAT tax invoices with your TRN and offers 24/7 support from a Dubai team on WhatsApp.

Where it falls short today

These gaps are real and should shape your decision.

  • No Arabic interface yet. The vendor says Arabic arrives in 2027. Arabic-speaking staff or Arabic customer receipts may be a dealbreaker today.
  • Card payments need internet. Offline mode keeps orders, kitchen screens and cash payments running, but card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments through Stripe or PayPal cannot be taken until the connection returns. Venues with unreliable WiFi need a backup plan.
  • No import from another POS. Your menu is rebuilt by hand or through a paid set-up package.
  • Young product, little public track record. The "first 25 venues" offer suggests a small customer base, and the site has no published client case studies yet.

Owners who want food cost and profit visible dailyLarge menus that must migrate automatically from another POS

The verdict, and how to test it

For an independent UAE restaurant that wants to understand its margins, GrandTable POS offers more back-office control per dirham than most POS options. Its edge is not the till. It is the stock, costing, live P&L, KPI and staff-document tools bundled in at AED 75 per device. Its weaknesses are Arabic support, card payments when offline, and maturity.

The 7-day demo costs nothing, so test it against your own service:

  1. Build five real dishes with recipes and check that the food cost % matches your own numbers.
  2. Run a busy lunch through the Kitchen and Bar screens, then switch off the WiFi mid-service.
  3. Connect Stripe or PayPal, take a test Apple Pay payment, and see how it shows in the day's cash-up.
  4. Confirm that the delivery platforms you use connect to your account.
  5. If you run several venues, check the combined owner view from your phone.
  6. Message the WhatsApp support line late at night and time the reply.

If it passes those tests for your venue, it can do more for you than a typical POS. If it fails one that matters to you, that is your answer too.
